This year the San Jose Pride Festival turns 40. Just imagine what it was like 40 years ago, and all the hard work and love that has gone into making a thriving, healthy, safe, and equal community. Let’s show our support to the LGBT community as allies.
In celebration of this monumental occasion, ‘The Parade’ is back! The parade will start close to the intersection of St. John & Market Streets, winding down at Market & Park Avenue.
We will be meeting at the tip of Plaza de Cesar Chavez Park at 10am, close to where the parade will end at Park and Market. The parade will be going from St. John to Park on Market st, so do not expect to be able to cross the parade route by car.
Please wear your ACSJ wear! If you need a limited edition black t-shirt, let Lyn know before the 26th, and she’ll try to bring you one on parade day. Remember to let her know your size, and bring $10 cash to pay for it.
After the parade, the festival goes from 12pm – 7pm on Almaden Blvd. (Entrance gates at Park Ave. & San Fernando St.) Tickets can be purchased ahead of time for $10. Gate admission is $15.
