As before, we will be sorting food at the Second Harvest’s Cypress Center to prepare it for distribution. We are allotted 12 persons, and a few more than that are welcome. The Food Bank always has praise for the speed and efficiency of ACSJ, and our visibility to other groups at these events helps improve peoples’ image of atheists. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required. Everyone must be at least 14 years old. Anyone 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Second Harvest suggests that volunteers consider bringing a donation of non-perishable foods. High-protein items like peanut butter and tuna are preferable along with canned meals like stew or soup.
