It’s been too many years since we did our last Saturnalia Supper in 2014. So we decided to bring it back for a fun night, good food and great company!

Saturnalia was an ancient Roman festival in honor of the deity Saturn, held on the 17th of December of the Julian calendar and later expanded with festivities through to the 23rd of December. The holiday was celebrated with a sacrifice at the Temple of Saturn, in the Roman Forum, and a public banquet, followed by private gift-giving, continual partying, and a carnival atmosphere that overturned Roman social norms: gambling was permitted, and masters provided table service for their slaves. The poet Catullus called it “the best of days”.

Ok, so we won’t be going THAT far, but we do have plenty to celebrate!

The ACSJ has booked the banquet room at CHINA STIX in Santa Clara. We are catering the following menu and we require everyone to pitch in $10 for a set menu picked by the ACSJ. Drinks are not included.

Menu Includes:
Egg Rolls; Chinese Chicken Salad; Honey Pecan Prawns; Orange Chicken; Mongolian Beef; Sweet and Sour Pork; Mixed Vegetables with Cashew Nuts; Chicken Chow Mein; BBQ Pork Fried Rice; Steamed Rice

Last year we had an optional “white elephant” gift exchange which was a lot of fun so bring a wrapped gift if you want to play the game. Keep the gifts around $10 in value.

We have had an amazing year as the growth continues at the ACSJ. We want to take this time to celebrate with you and party like it’s 2015!

Hope to see you there! Food is served at 7PM.

***You can pre-pay via Meetup if you want.  We will also be taking cash at the door. If you purchase any drinks, please let the staff know to charge you individually for it. Thanks, everyone and we’ll see you at dinner! ***

Please RSVP by Dec. 5th if you can! 50 person limit!
