We have a very exciting double dose of content for our first meeting of 2015. You won’t want to miss this!
First up, our very own VP (Scot Haire) will be taking us through the past year and highlight some impressive milestones we have reached. The year did fly by, but we should take a moment to reflect on the impact that the ACSJ has made. I predict a lot of applause in this segment!
Next up, we have a visitor from SoCal. Bart Campolo is the Humanist Chaplain at the University of Southern California. For those of you with Christian backgrounds, you may think that name sounds familiar, and it is! Bart’s father is Tony Campolo, who was a big deal in religious circles back in the late 80’s. Being brought up in the church, Bart has some unique insights on community and why it is so important for secular communities to flourish. Bart has had an interesting journey from Christian to Humanist, you can read more about Bart here.
This meeting is primarily focused on the past and future goals of the ACSJ, so we hope you will come by and share our accomplishments and see what we are planning for next year. After all, we couldn’t have done this without your support! And of course you are encouraged to mingle after the meeting and get to know your fellow freethinkers.
See you there!
