Again this year several local groups will march as the Atheist/Humanist Groups Contingent in the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 28th. The lead banners declare: “Stop the Religious Oppression of LGBT’s.” This movement is a natural ally for atheists. The Parade begins at 10:30 AM at Market & Beale, very close to the Embarcadero BART Station.

Please wear your ACSJ T-Shirt, to let the crowd know there is a home for them in the South Bay. We will not have our own banner this year, so you will be supporting other Bay Area Atheist groups.

You are welcome to bring your own little sign, musical instrument to jam with, and/or dress up as your favorite mythical god. Remember, you are looking to excite the crowd!

“We will need Contingent Monitors, so please volunteer if you can. Monitors attend a one hour class, and simply make sure our contingent follows the rules. Since that isn’t a problem, the job is very easy.

Advance registration for Contingent Monitor Trainings is not required. Please arrive on-time to prevent being turned away from a full training class. At the training you need to register as a Monitor for our group, the atheist/humanist contingent. It may also be listed as the atheist contingent. Please help make this happen!

Please email Larry after completing your training and registration.”

Contingent monitor training is available on the following dates:

Thursday, June 18 @ 7 PM / PG&E Auditorium / 77 Beale St, SF (Optional pre-registration)

Sunday, June 21 @ 1 PM / SFP Library – Koret Auditorium / 100 Larkin St, SF
