Ken Ham, chief executive liar officer at the infamous Creation Museum in Kentucky has paid to have billboards placed in Times Square in NYC and Fisherman’s wharf in SF.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ken Ham stated in a press release:

In a friendly way, we want to reach out to people in secularized parts of the country and share the hope we have in Christ. Atheists live in a world of ultimate meaninglessness and purposelessness. But the good news is that God sent His Son to offer the free gift of salvation. There is purpose and meaning in life. And we thank God for that.

Ken claims we live in a world that is meaningless and purposeless and this is not only wrong, but insulting. We do have meaning to our lives and we have our own purpose. We simply reject that our life is to meant to be a trial run before spending eternity groveling before his god in heaven; a god & heaven that Ham can’t demonstrate exists in any way outside his own imagination.

Here is why we chose the wording we did for the billboards:

1) First of all, we are not angry at the atheists at all—we are burdened for them as people who will be lost for eternity, unless they receive the free gift of salvation. We want them to know that Christians love them as humans made in the image of God—but sinners in need of salvation.

Atheists are lost? If being “found” means believing that the whole of reality is mistaken, science is to be distrusted because it disagrees with the Bible, that a snakes and donkeys can talk,  and the world will end with a multi-headed monster that should be in the new Godzilla movie, then please, I want to stay lost.

2) These atheists should thank God that they can receive the free gift of salvation and be saved for eternity. Yes, they need to thank God they have been wrong and turn to the truth.

Ham can offer no evidence of something that can be offended by sin, anything to be saved from, nor a savior. He can’t show that we are actually wrong about anything!

On the other hand, we can show that he is dead wrong about virtually everything his ministry claims. Ham regularly travels the country to visit Christian schools to poison their children with his anti-science venom. He tells children that the Earth was created 6000 years ago in 6 / 24 periods. If that is not bad enough, Ham then tells them that humans and dinosaurs lived side by side at the same time! If anyone should dare teach them otherwise, he tells them that they are to counter with “Were *you* there to see it?” as if the scientist not being alive with dinosaurs is some sort of proof that creationism is valid.

3) Those of us who have received the free gift of salvation and are truly born again as the Bible teaches can thank God the atheists are wrong—we thank God for our salvation and look forward to an eternity with our Creator and Savior.

In Ham’s case, being born again means a license to lie to people. Not just a license, but a necessary requirement! If you visit his site and read AiG’s “Statement of Faith” you will find said liar’s license.

“By definition, no apparent, perceived or claimed evidence in any field, including history and chronology, can be valid if it contradicts the scriptural record.”

That statement allows Ham and his band of pseudo-scientists to dismiss any evidence that doesn’t support their preconceived notions. This is the epitome of intellectual dishonesty. Real science, on the other hand, isn’t allowed to ignore evidence that is inconvenient. Science must follow wherever the evidence leads no matter how much we may dislike the conclusions.

Clearly Ham doesn’t research anything before he makes claims. Love is a bio-chemical reaction and can be clearly observed and measured using fMRI. Reason and logic are human inventions that allow us to better understand the universe we live in. Knowledge is simply a collection of known elements about the universe in which we live. We can and have explained these things and none of the current cosmological models claim the universe exists just by chance. Why does Ken continue to spread lies like these?

Over and over again the statements in the Bible can be confirmed as true (especially prophecies that only God could have known) and consistent with science, showing it can be trusted on all accounts, including the existence of God.

Oh really? Let’s see how the bible’s claims stack up, shall we? We know for a fact that the creation stories in Genesis are fictional. We know the world was never covered at any time by a global flood and said story in Genesis was stolen from the Epic of Gilgamesh. We know for a fact that the Hebrew nation was never enslaved by Egypt, despite the claims in Exodus.

The Bible says Joshua destroyed the wall of Jericho ~1400 BCE but archaeological evidence shows that an earthquake destroyed the wall ~2300 BCE. The city was also thoroughly destroyed by a fire and then abandoned ~1600 BCE. Jericho was not inhabited again until 700 BCE. There was no wall to tumble down or citizens to destroy at Jericho within centuries of when the Bible says Joshua was there.

Matthew 27:52-53 claims that when Jesus died graves were opened as zombies rose from them and this was seen by many people.  How are we to believe that not a single historian of the time noted that the undead were walking the Earth?

Let’s review a few of the “prophecies” that Ham conveniently forgets to notice have not come true:

Ezekiel 30:12 continues with a prediction that the Nile River will run dry. Never has this happened.

Ezekiel 30:10-11 further predicts that Nebuchadnezzar will destroy Egypt. It seems that Nebuchadnezzar didn’t know he was supposed to do that…. cause he didn’t. In fact he was defeated in his only attempt to invade Egypt.

Isaiah 52:1 claims that uncircumcised people will never live in Jerusalem. Needless to say that is just false.

Matthew 16:28 says that some of the people that heard Jesus would not die and would see him return at the end of the world…  Uh. Right. Where are these 2000 year old people?

“Bible prophecy” isn’t prophecy in any way shape or form. Prophecy needs to be very specific as to who, where, when, etc. The prophecies that Ham thinks are proof of his god are so vague my dog has likely fulfilled some of them.

Are you still waiting for someone to prove to you there is a God? We encourage you to go back and read the verses in this article, in which God has already revealed Himself to you in writing before you were born, and also consider the many confirming evidences.

That Ham and his sycophants actually think that the Bible is evidence of his god is simply absurd! The Bible is the claim that his god exists and claims are not evidence. The Bible is simply to unreliable of a source to be taken seriously.  It is filled with contradictions, cruelty, genocide, bigotry, and the most vile elements of humanity. It isn’t a valid source of morals as it endorses slavery (Leviticus 25:44-46), says rape victims should be forced to marry their attacker and never be allowed to divorce him (Deuteronomy 22:28-29), and says that god is a deceiver who wants to condemn the educated (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12).  If this is the best that Ham’s “perfect god can offer us to prove his existence, I am  not impressed in the least.

Ken Ham is not your friend. He is not a purveyor of truth and he should never be allowed around children.  The National Center for Science Education sums up the threat Ham is to your child’s education very well:

“Students who accept [Ham’s] material as scientifically valid are unlikely to succeed in science courses at the college level. These students will need remedial instruction in the nature of science, as well as in the specific areas of science misrepresented by Answers in Genesis.”

Ken Ham is a leftover relic of an obsolete worldview. He is treading water trying to stay relevant in a world that is outgrowing his childish fairytales and his need to have a deity to tell him what is wrong and right. We are not buying his attempt to be friendly and we certainly are not buying the pseudo-science he is selling.
