Welcome all lazy dog lovers, who don’t mind a short hike… now and then! Let’s head over to Almaden Quicksilver park for an easy going hike with some dogs!
We can meet at 11am at the trail entrance at the end of McAbee Rd, with the cross street of Whispering Pines drive (see image). Parking is free on Whispering Pines drive next to the park fence. (approx 6528 Whispering Pines Dr, San Jose, CA 95120 )
We will do an hour long hike from Senador Mine Trail to Guadalupe Trail then over to Mine Hill Trail back to the entrance on McAbee. https://goo.gl/maps/xrGcR
Wear good shoes, and be prepared for a chance of rain. Temps should be in the low 60s. Wear sunscreen and/or a hat. Bring your own water bottle (and doggy water bowl.) Dogs must be on leash. One port-a-potty can be found at the beginning and end of our hike.
There is a nice bench at the top of the hill overlooking the south side of the valley, and picnic table half way up the hill to help ya get to it. This a semi-shady route, with beginner style hills.
