As before, we will be sorting food at the Second Harvest’s Cypress Center to prepare it for distribution. The Food Bank always has praise for the speed and efficiency of ACSJ, and our visibility to other groups at these events helps improve peoples’ image of atheists. Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required. Everyone must be at least 14 years old. Anyone 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Second Harvest suggests that volunteers consider bringing a donation of non-perishable foods. High-protein items like peanut butter and tuna are preferable along with canned meals like stew or soup. ~Thank you for volunteering with ACSJ. Our philanthropic efforts are meant to demonstrate that atheists care about our community. All volunteers are ACSJ representatives so it is essential to show respect and consideration for others, including those who may hold beliefs different than your own.
